Clay Jackson

Clay A. Jackson is an Attorney at
Law licensed to practice in the
State of California. Having
practiced law for over 30 years,
Clay has a wide range of
expertise in the areas of litigation,
business and contracts,
governmental regulation and
lawmaking.
Clay has been a litigator, for over
15 years, in the private sector, is
a former Special Deputy District
Attorney, and Deputy County
Counsel. He has also worked as
a Regulation Attorney for the
State of California, thus making
him knowledgeable in the area of
drafting and implementing
regulatory law, which is what self-
insurance operates under.
Beyond having operated five self-
insured groups, Clay has been on
the Board of Directors of a
statewide self-insurance worker’s
compensation group and
understands, firsthand, the
benefits of such a group to its
members.
Lastly, Clay is the founder of The
California Alliance of Self-Insured
Groups (CA-SIG) trade
association, which is the trade
association for self-insured
groups in California. He has also
been the association’s President,
Vice President and Secretary, and
has authored and submitted all of
the association’s regulatory
submittals, to the State of
California, for the past 20 years.
Clay’s understanding of the legal
aspects, liabilities and risks
involved with worker’s
compensation self-insurance and
self-insured programs make him
a valuable part of our team. He
holds a Juris Doctorate Degree
and Bachelor of Science in
Psychology.
Because of Clay’s work in the
self-insured group industry, he
was named one of the “50 Most
Influential People in California
Workers’ Compensation” in 2010.
Since that time, Clay has
continued his work to make SIGs
a more vital and vibrant industry
in the California workers’
compensation market.
